Carlisle Brake Products (UK) Ltd was created following the acquisition by the USA Carlisle Group in 2005 of the off-highway braking division of Arvin Meritor’s global braking business. In 2006 the business, including its employees, were transferred to a brand new factory just a few miles away from the original Arvin Meritor operation.

Carlisle Brake Products (UK) Ltd forms part of the Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction Group with manufacturing locations in the USA, Europe and Asia. This part of the conglomerate group of Carlisle.

Products: Braking systems for off-highway and industrial equipment, on-highway and towed vehicle actuation systems and specialty friction products.

Markets: Heavy-duty equipment manufacturers, replacement parts distributors, trailer manufacturers and distributors, clutch and brake manufacturers.

Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction is our braking systems business for off-highway and industrial equipment, and on-highway and towed vehicle actuation systems. We continue to develop what our customers demand: innovative low-cost braking solutions.

Carlisle Industrial Brake & Friction and Carlisle Motion Control have the ability to work together. This allows the group companies to:

• share formulation and processing technologies,
• share utilization of test facilities for new product development and enhanced customer support,
• combine the sales responsibilities at major OEM customers, and utilize the advanced capabilities in braking systems and friction at Carlisle Industrial Brake & Friction and the expertise in friction at Carlisle Motion Control to provide better braking solutions to our customers.
